With an expected attendance of over 50,000 participants, including families, children, volunteers, and international guests, safeguarding is at the heart of our operations.

The safeguarding policy applies to everyone involved in the event, including:
- Staff and volunteers
- Attendees and guests
- Contractors and vendors
- Children, vulnerable adults, and families
- Third-party service providers

A fully trained on-site safeguarding team will be present throughout the event to handle concerns discreetly and professionally. They are easily identifiable and located at Safeguarding Points across the site.
π§ Special Safeguarding for Children & Vulnerable Adults
- Lost children must be escorted to the Designated Child Safety Point.
- Key staff working with children undergo enhanced DBS checks.
- Assistance will be readily available for vulnerable adults through visible signage and trained volunteers.
π How to Report a Concern
Concerns can be reported:
- In person to any Safeguarding Team member (or Nazima Office for women)
- Via phone hotline or event communication radio
- At a Safeguarding HQ or designated point
Important:
- Listen without judgment
- Do not promise confidentiality
- Record and report the facts immediately

All incident logs are handled in strict compliance with GDPR and UK Data Protection laws. Only authorised personnel have access to sensitive information.

The policy will be reviewed after the event to incorporate:
- Lessons learned from incident logs
- Staff and volunteer feedback
- Legislative or safeguarding best practice updates
