A Celebration of Unity and Peace
From July 26th to 28th, 2024, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will host its Annual Convention, Jalsa Salana, in the serene town of East Worldham, Alton, at Hadeeqatul Mahdi. This grand event, deeply rooted in tradition and spirituality, aims to promote religious knowledge, unity, and peace among attendees from around the world.
What is Jalsa Salana?
Jalsa Salana, meaning “Annual Gathering,” was first initiated in 1891 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, in Qadian, India. Since then, it has grown into a significant global event. The UK convention attracts over 35,000 participants from more than 90 countries, all gathering to deepen their understanding of religious teachings and foster a sense of community.
The Theme: Love for All, Hatred for None
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None,” underscores the convention’s objectives. Eminent speakers will discuss various religious topics and their relevance in contemporary society, aiming to enhance unity, understanding, and mutual respect among people of different backgrounds. The event also features addresses from parliamentarians, civic leaders, and diplomats, highlighting its importance in fostering global harmony.
Special Guests and Addresses
A highlight of Jalsa Salana is the presence of His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. His Holiness addresses the convention each day, offering invaluable insights into religious teachings and their application in today’s world.
Traffic and Local Impact
With such a large influx of visitors, some traffic delays are expected during the three days of Jalsa Salana. The event organizers, alongside a dedicated team of volunteers and a traffic management company, are working diligently to minimize the impact on local roads. Advance advisory signs will be deployed to inform neighbors and road users of expected delays. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to avoid using country lanes to ease the burden on local traffic.
Busy Traffic Times:
- Incoming Traffic: Expect higher volumes throughout the day as attendees arrive.
- Outgoing Traffic: Increased activity is anticipated as participants depart.
Despite some delays, traffic will continue to flow, ensuring minimal disruption to the local community.
Join the Celebration
Jalsa Salana 2024 promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees, providing a platform for learning, reflection, and the promotion of peace. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community extends a warm invitation to neighbors and the broader community to join in this celebration of unity and understanding.
This event not only strengthens the bonds within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community but also fosters a broader sense of global harmony and mutual respect. As we gather in East Worldham this July, let us embrace the spirit of “Love for All, Hatred for None” and work together towards a more peaceful and understanding world.
